16 Kindergarten Children, Two Teachers Injured In Knife-Stabbing Incident

There was chaos in a Criminal Area Court in Yola, Adamawa State capital, after a man stabbed his former fiancée after she turned back on an agreement to refund money she received from her former fiancé while they were still engaged.

The man, Enoch Adamu, had taken the victim, Ashini Hosea, to court demanding a refund of N120,000 he claimed to have spent on her while they were in courtship. The courtship eventually broke down leading to the demand for the refund.

GWG gathered that the couple had through the court reached an agreement for the lady to refund some money to him and the lady had started making some of the refund.

However, last Thursday the lady had a change of mind as her lawyer, Barrister Ibrahim Saidu, made an application to reverse the agreement under which his client was to make the refunds.

Peeved by the action, Enoch according to a report in Daily Trust pulled out a knife and stabbed Ashini and four others who tried to save her.

He was eventually overpowered by security operatives.

The Adamawa State Police Public Relations Officer in the state, DSP Sulaiman Nguroje, who confirmed the incident to the newspaper said the suspect had been taken into custody and would be charged to court as soon as investigation is concluded.

All five persons stabbed by the suspect are currently being treated at an undisclosed hospital in Yola, the police spokesman said.
