Yoruba Nation rally stray bullet

A 14-year old gril selling yogurt in the Ojota area was killed on Saturday as police dispersed the crowd of activists who gathered for the Lagos Yoruba Nation rally at the Gani Fawehinmi Park.

The stomach of the girl was said to have been ripped by a stray bullet fired by the security men dispersing the crowd of agitators for the Yoruba Nation.

The girl whose name was simply given as Jumoke was not known to have been part of the agitators as she fell to the stray bullet from the security men. She was said to have been displaying her wares at a nearby shop when the stray bullet hit and cut off her life.

Her corpse was immediately covered by a cloth by onlookers as they mourned her demise.

The police are yet to confirm the development.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the police had laid siege to the park to prevent the agitators but succumbed as the agitators including ladies clad in Yoruba traditional religion costume arrived for the scheduled demonstration.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported that the symbol of the agitation, Sunday Adeyemo, popularly known as Sunday Igboho was absent at the rally following the police manhunt for him after the raid on his Ibadan residence on Thursday.
