It has emerged that the bandits who kidnapped students of the Bethel Baptist School, Kaduna reneged on their promise to release all 126 students with them despite collecting a whooping N50 million and six brand new motorcycles as ransom.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the bandits released only 28 of the students as against the promise of releasing all 126 students on the receipt of the ransom.

Upon hearing the news of the students released, parents, relatives and friends stormed the school premises with the hope of finding their wards and children.

It was a moment mixed with despair and elation as parents who are lucky to have their children among the released were enveloped by, unfurling emotion and indescribable joy while those whose children are still in captivity are thrown into state of melancholy.

The development leaves 117 students still being held by the bandits.

But parents whose children are yet to be released kept searching, checking among the students amid tears and feeling of emptiness.

They asked questions and probed those released about the condition and whereabouts of their children. “where is my son, where is my daughter? Do you see her/him? Where are they?” They asked

“Where is Joshua my son, what happened to him? He is not among them. Oh, God, my prayers will never be in vain.” one of the mothers of children still in captivity said in between sobs of dejection.

Also, lamenting, Mr. Jonathan Dauda, who could not hold back his tears as he could not see his kidnapped daughter among them, but believed God that his daughter will be released soon said, “God cannot lie. My daughter will surely be released.”
