Former Minister Of Agriculture Dead

Malami Buwai a former Minister of Agriculture is dead.

It was gathered that the former minister was pronounced dead on Monday in Gusau, the Zamfara State capital following a protracted illness.

Buwai served as Minister of Agriculture under the regime of former Head of State, Gen. Sani Abacha.

However, the Governor of Zamfara State, Bello Matawalle, has reacted to the death of the former minister.

Governor Matawalle, who reacted via a tribute issued by the Press Secretary to the Governor, Malam Jamilu Birnin-Magaji, described the death of Buwai as a great loss to Zamfara State.

The governor further described the late Buwai as one of the personalities who spearheaded the creation of Zamfara State.

“I received with shock the death of a seasoned farmer, scholar, administrator, and an astute elder statesman, Alhaji Malami Buwai,” Governor Matawalle stated.

The governor also described the late Buwai as an honest, God-fearing philanthropist par excellence, adding that the former minister had contributed immensely to the development of Zamfara State, especially in assisting the needy.

Governor Matawalle, therefore, prayed to Allah to forgive the shortcomings of the former minister and grant his family the fortitude to bear the loss.
