Angry Mob Sets Two Suspected Armed Robbers Ablaze In Kano
Two suspected armed robbers became victims of jungle justice in Kano, as they were set ablaze by angry mobs while the third armed robber was lucky to escape.
The incident which happened at Rimi village, Sumaila Local Government Area of the state was confirmed by DSP Abdullahi Haruna, the Police Public Relations Officer, Kano State Command.
According to Haruna, the command received a distress call that some mobs set two notorious armed robbers on fire while the other one escaped.Â
He said from the information at hand, the robbers were said to have been terrorizing Rimi and Magami villages and met their waterloo when they came to launch an operation on Rimi village.
When the police arrived at the scene of the incident, the armed robbers were found burnt to ashes, thereby evacuating their remains to the hospital.Â
Haruna also stated that “we have recovered knives and other weapons believed to belong to the deceased suspects.Â
“As at now, the state’s Commissioner of Police, Samaila Shuaibu Dikko had ordered for a thorough investigation into the matter.”
The state police however condemned the action of the residents warning they should desist from taking laws into their hands in order to avoid killing innocent persons.Â
He cautioned the general public that whenever suspects are arrested, they should be handed over to Police for investigation that would lead to uncovering the truth of the matter.Â
“Taking law into the hands of the people is something that we will not condone. If suspects are apprehended, they should be handed over to the Police so that investigation will leaders to uncovering them and the weapon they use to commit their nefarious acts”.
