Delta APC Warns Against Muttering As Ogaga Ifowodo Emerges Candidate For Isoko 1 Seat
The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Delta State has described the party primary election of 19th August, 2021 conducted to produce a flag-bearer to fill the vacant Isoko South Constituency 1 seat in the Delta State House of Assembly, as free, fair, credible and a family affair.
GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that former university lecturer and student activist, Dr. Ogaga Ifowodo won the primary election contested for the Isoko 1 State constituency held on Thursday, August 19, 2021.
The party in a statement approved by the State Chairman Caretaker Committee, Prophet Jones Ode Erue, not only described the process that brought the flag bearer as unprecedented and unparalleled in the history of political party primaries in the State, also urged all stakeholders to remain calm and sustain the existing peace being enjoyed in the party.
The party commended the peaceful manner in which members went about to exercise their franchise in choosing who becomes the party’s standard bearer. The APC family is very proud and impressed with the high-level of acceptance by members of the party in Isoko nation and across the State. The party promised to bring smiles to the faces of Isoko people and deliver the dividends of Democracy to them.
The Delta APC reminded political actors and commentators that the conduct of party primaries and nomination of candidates, is the sole responsibility of political parties and therefore cautioned members from making disparaging and unfounded statements capable of heating-up the polity over the result of the Isoko primary.
The Chairman assured the party would continue to be courageous, cultivate passion for the people, give hope, remain resolute in its commitment in making the development, welfare, and standard of living of the Isoko people it’s utmost priority.
The party urged members to always defer to the internal dispute resolution mechanism of the APC and be guided by the supremacy of the party’s constitution in ventilating real or perceived grievances at all times which is undoubtedly, the hallmark and acceptable standard of party loyalty.
The statement reads: “It is with a huge sense of appreciation, complete satisfaction and total fulfillment, that we rejoice with and commend our dedicated members and flag bearer for the successful accomplishment of the party primary. The party shall come out victorious during the election and grab the opportunity to deliver the dividends of democracy the Isoko people have been lacking under the inept PDP administration”.
