Renowned British broadcaster, Piers Morgan has revealed that former Manchester United manager, Alex Fergursson played a role in derailing plans by Manchester City FC to sign Cristano Ronaldo. City.

 GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported that the football world which had been abuzz over reported talks between Ronaldo and Manchester City was shocked on Friday to hear news that the football star had rather inked an agreement to go to Manchester United.

Piers Morgan who interviewed Cristano Ronaldo a year ago said that the star player in that interview gushed about Ferguson who according to the broadcaster acted like a father figure to the player even after he left Manchester United.

the world was shocked on Friday when in the midst of the buzz about Ronaldo concluding talks with Manchester City that it emerged that Ronaldo had inked a deal with the Reds.

Tweeting on the role played by Ferguson, Piers Morgan said:

“When I interviewed him, his respect & admiration for ‘The Boss’ was off the charts.

“He’s been like a second father to him, especially since the sad early death of Cristiano’s dad.”

It would be recalled that Ferguson was the one who as Manchester United manager signed Ronaldo from Sporting Lisbon and he went on to become a Manchester United legend.
