Tragedy As Plane Crashes Into Building, Kills Four

A plane on Thursday at about 10am crashed into a building in Farmington, Connecticut killing four people.

The plane which sent huge plumes of smoke high into the air departed from Robertson Field Airport in Plainville and was headed to Dare County Regional Airport in Manteo, North Carolina, according to the FAA.

Emergency services rushed to the scene following the horrifying crash.

Police said two pilots and two passengers were on the plane and tragically died during the incident.

Local media reports suggested that people were in the building at the time of the crash, although police said that no one in the building was hurt.

Images shared on social media appear to show the building on fire following the crash.

According to Daily Star UK report, the plane, a Cessna Citation 560X business jet, crashed into a Trumpf Inc building – a German industrial machine manufacturing company.

Firefighters and ambulance services are also on the scene.

Police confirmed evacuations are now taking place in the area following the horror incident.

Authorities were evacuating the area of Hyde Road, where the accident occurred, and have asked local residents to stay away.

The FAA and NTSB have both confirmed they will be investigating the incident.

In a tweet, the Farmington Police Department wrote: “We are responding to a plane crash into a building at 111 Hyde Rd.

“Media can stage at the intersection of New Britain Ave and Hyde Rd for now.

“Any updates will be on our Twitter page. Please avoid the area so emergency crews can evacuate the immediate area.”
