Senator Ovie Omo-Agege has moved to address mutterings arising from the zoning of positions in the proposed executive of the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress, APC.

The move was contained in a statement made available to  GreenWhiteGreen GWG on Sunday, by Omo-Agege who as deputy president of the Senate, is regarded by the mainstream of the party in the state as party leader.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that under the original proposals for the zoning of party offices in the state exco that it had been agreed that all offices in Delta South be moved to Delta Central, while offices in Delta Central are moved to Delta North while Delta North would be moved to Delta South.

However, in the zoning proposals issued last Friday the office of woman leader presently in Delta Central was retained, leading to mutterings here and there.

Arising from the development, Omo-Agege, the leader of the APC in Delta State, has accordingly set up a committee to study complaints about zoning and make recommendations.

A statement issued by Omo-Agege on the development read thus:

Sequel to the series of complaints/petitions arising from the approved zoning of the various party offices of the Delta State Executive Committee for the All Progressives Congress by the Delta State Caretaker Committee.

The following seven-man Committee has been constituted to consider and make possible recommendations for a peaceful and harmonious State Congress.

1.Senator Peter Nwaboshi – Chairman

2. Hon Stella Okotete – Secretary

3.Hon Halims Agoda – Member

4.Surv Peter Akarogbe – Member

5.Comr Austin Oribioye – Member

6.Barr Gabriel Yabaka – Member

7.Barr Francis Obigbo – Member

The Committee is to submit its report on or before the 25th of September, 2021.

The report would thereafter be ratified by the Delta State APC caucus on a later date to be communicated before the APC State Congresses.

Signed:

        His Excellency,

Senator Ovie Omo-Agege

Deputy President of the Senate

The move by Senator Omo-Agege to address the muttering over the zoning of offices is expected to help calm nerves in the Delta State chapter of the APC ahead of the State congresses early next month.
