FIFA Chief Hails Organisation Of Aisha Buhari Cup

FIFA Secretary-General Fatima Samoura on Monday commended the just concluded Aisha Buhari Women’s Invitational Tournament hosted in Lagos on Monday.

Mrs Samoura hailed the display of skills and high level of competition witnessed at the tournament. A clearly delighted Samoura made her feelings known after the match between the Black Queens of Ghana and Indomitable Lionesses of Cameroon, which the Ghanaian Queens won 2-0.

She also gave a thumbs up to the organisers of the tournament for the level of organisation and preparedness put into hosting the Aisha Buhari Cup

Samoura said, “I am so delighted about what I have seen so far in the competition, there has been a high level of skills and competitiveness.

“Indeed, the tempo of the game is standard and each participating team has shown some level of ball development than ever before.

“The organisers have done well indeed, the competition would go a long way in adding more value and class to women football in Africa as a whole,” she said.
