Koeman sack

Under-pressure Barcelona boss, Ronald Koeman has come under fire from Barca fans following a bizarre press conference held on Wednesday.

Koeman was scheduled to appear for a pre-match conference for the LaLiga clash against Cadiz on Thursday. But the Dutchman shocked journalists and watchers alike, when he arrived and read a prepared statement, and leaving without answering questions from journalists.

Rumours of Koeman’s imminent sack by the Barca board has made headlines, with Belgium coach Roberto Martinez touted to fill his shoes at the Camp Nou.

Following the strange presser, some fans took to Twitter to express their thoughts on their manager’s actions, with most slamming Koeman for his decision.

Below are some tweets:

@NicolaiLisberg: Koeman getting a lot of stick for that press conference, but I actually found it quite refreshing. Calm, clear and not wrong. You have to accept the reality that Barça are facing right now and deal with it accordingly.

@Adamson63309869: Barcelona coach declines to answer questions at press conference On the eve of the sixth round match against Cadiz, Ronald Koeman simply read out a three-minute address, after which he left the hall

@mktgworks: This is the same guy that recently claimed he alone had saved the club? Apparently the ego has been humbled a bit in the last week (drawing with Granada will do that to you!)

@QuinCamb: How the mighty have fallen. Not a Barca fan, but hope they sort their shit out.

@SamuelCarter148: Sign of a man who’s lost control and his marbles

@talkfcb_: Everything about Ronald Koeman’s press conference today felt like some sort of farewell, his time is up. With Xavi, Ten Hag & Roberto Martinez in the running to replace him.

@JosipFCB93: As if the game itself wasn’t enough to make us all mad, this Koeman press conference is even worse than the game itself. A coach with such mediocre mentality acting like a victim in every way possible should not have a place at Barcelona. Especially when we are trying to rebuild.

@FCBClev10: After seeing quotes from that Koeman press conference, it’s clear that he has a small club mentality. Stems from his mediocre stints at Everton and Valencia I imagine. Will never take us to that next level.

@Barsalev: Koeman’s press conference was even worse than the match. He is finished. Sad end to a club legend. What the fuck was he thinking playing two CBs and Luuk De Jong upfront for 15 minutes? He knows the club too well to not know that will backfire.

@UcheSo: Koeman`s press conference is simply bizarre! #FCB #FCBarcelona But its also degrading to the team he is supposed to coach. Understood the team is no match to Bayern but what of Granada? As a Barca fan, I don’t see any reason why Koeman should continue as coach.

@TroyeGaleta: what Koeman did today was absolutely embarrassing and disgusting. No matter the situation a press conference is always a highlight for fans to get views/opinions and journalists to engage. Cowardice is not a value od this club.
