Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp has spared Mohammed Salah of blame following a shocking one-on-one miss in the Reds 3-3 draw with promoted side Brentford.

Liverpool made the trip to London-based Brentford, and were pushed all the way by the promoted side. Brentford took the lead in the 27th minute through defender Ethan Pinnock. The Reds failed to clear a set-piece across the face of goal, and the defender scored with an outstretched leg.

Liverpool drew level through a Diogo Jota header four minutes later.

Egyptian superstar Mohammed Salah scored his 100th Premier League goal in 151 appearances for the Reds to send Liverpool 2-1 up, breaking into the top 10 highest league scorers list for the Reds.

German mdfielder Vitaly Janelt drew the Bees level in the 63rd minute, in front of a watching German national team manager, Hansi Flick. Soon-to-be substituted Curtis Jones then put Livepool ahead through a deflected long-range strike in the 67th minute. With the midfielder subbed off immediately after his celebration.

Mohammed Salah was then presented with a golden chance to put Liverpool two goals up and secure a more assured lead, but the Egypyian wasted the glorious opportunity. Sadio Mane put Salah through on goal in the 77th minute, with Salah one on one with Raya, unfortunately, his chipped finish was a bit too high and went over the bar.

Brentford then sealed a dramatic equalizer in the five minutes later in the 82nd minute through 78th minute substitute Yoane Wissa.

“These things happen. It’s brilliant football. Mo scores usually in these situations, today not, but there’s absolutely nothing to say about it,” Klopp said t Sky Sports in a post-match interview

“I really liked how we connected up front. We should have scored more. But if we win 3-2 or 4-3 we still have these struggles defensively, that’s how it is.”

He added: “I think Mo sees it the same way – he would love to have 101 today.”

Salah reached the 100-goal mark in the fewest top-flight games by a Liverpool player, beating Roger Hunt’s record of reaching the century in 152 appearances by one.

Mohammed Salah is the record holder for most goals scored in a Premier League season with 32 goals in the 2017/2018 season and has five goals and two assists in six appearances
