Europa: Harry Kane Hat-Trick Quiets Slovenian Clubside, Mura
Harry Kane came from the bench in the second half of the Europa league cracker on Thursday night in London to help Tottenham Hotspur silent Slovenian club, Mura FC with a hattrick registered within 20 minutes.
It was the first hattrick for the England captain in the new season and could measure for among the hattricks registered under the shortest period in football history.
Mura who have a stadium that seats about 3,500 persons was not expected to pose much of a problem for the England side so, Harry Kane was apparently rested from the beginning by the Tottenham coach.
Two quick goals in the first half from Dele Ali in the 4th minute, and Giovani Lo Celso in the 8th minute had promised an easy massacre of Mura by the Tottenham players.
However, that seemed to be all that Tottenham could offer as the match moved into a dingdong affair with scores remaining 2-0 at half time as the Mura team increasingly grew in confidence against the England giants.
On resumption, danger appeared to be lurking for Tottenham who were playing at home as the defence was breached by the Mura attackers allowing Ziga Kous to narrow the difference for the Slovenian team with a goal.
The introduction of Harry Kane, however, changed the permutation as the England marksman registered three successive goals in the 68th, 77th and 88th minutes of the game to put the dream of Mura returning home with a strong show against the England side far off.
