Two Robbers Who Held Factory Workers Hostage With Toy Gun Nabbed

Two suspected armed robbers, Edehikenna Daniel Stanley and Segun Tope were on Saturday, 30th of October 2021 arrested by men of Ogun state police command after they had held staff of a company in Ota, Ogun State hostage with a toy gun.

A police bulletin made available to  GreenWhiteGreen GWG disclosed that the two suspects were caught in the act while carrying out robbery operation at Crown Park Company situated at Ota industrial Estate.

A statement by the Ogun State Police Command spokesman, DSP Abimbola Oyeyemi said that the suspects were nabbed following a distress call received by the policemen in Onipanu divisional headquarters at about 3 am that robbers have invaded the company and holding the security men there hostage.

DSP Oyeyemi noting how the suspected robbers were nabbed with their toy gun, said:

“Upon the distress call, the Dpo Onipanu division CSP Bamidele job quickly mobilized his men and moved to the scene.

“On sighting the policemen, the hoodlums who have stolen two heavy industrial batteries took to flight, but they were hotly chased and two of them were apprehended.

“Recovered from them were two industrial batteries, a toy gun with which they used to instill fear in the mind of the security men and two knives.

“The two suspects have been transferred to the state criminal investigation and intelligence department on the order of the commissioner of police CP Lanre Bankole for discreet investigation.”
