Osibina arrest Lagos building collapse

Femi Osibona, the developer of the collapsed Ikoyi 21-storey building was arrested for resisting officials of the Lagos State Government who sealed the project according to a video that has recently been obtained by IgberTV.

The incident reportedly in July 2020 became a no show after Osibona was reportedly released the same day on orders from above.

Femi Osibona has not been seen since the collapse of his 21-storey luxury apartment which was still under construction. He is according to multiple reports said to have been among those swallowed in the debris that are still being excavated.

Two more bodies have been brought out of the debris taking the total number of bodies brought out to 38. No survivor has been brought out since Tuesday from the 21-storey building that collapsed on Monday afternoon.

In the video that is now trending, Femi Osibona was arrested by Lagos State Government officials at the site of the building. He was arrested by a superior detachment of policemen who were accompanied by officials of the Lagos State Government planning officials.

No specific reason was given for the arrest which involved shooting into the air to scar away resistance from his workers and aides.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that there have been mixed reports about whether he got permission for the construction.

Whereas a senior government official claimed that he violated the approval given him for a 15-storey building by raising it to a 21-storey edifice, the deputy governor of Lagos State, Dr. Babfemi Hamzat has said that there was no violation of the approvals. Meanwhile Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu has constituted a panel to probe the collapse of the building.

Please watch the video showing how Osibina was arrested at the premises of the 21-storey building which collapsed last Monday.
