Reactions, As Nigerians Left Unimpressed, Despite 2-0 Win Over Liberia

Nigerians were left feeling rather unimpressed despite the Super Eagles sealing a 2-0 win over Liberia in their Qatar 2022 World Cup qualifying group fixture on Saturday.

Two penalties from Victor Osimhen and substitute Ahmed Musa in both halves were enough to see the Super Eagles maintain their lead. Despite the victory, fans were dismayed by the overall display of the team, as it lacked cohesion and struggled to create clear cut chances, especially in a drab second half.

Some of the fans, looking to air their opinions, took to social media to vent, calling out the display of the team, with some questioning coach Gernot Rohr’s ability to manage a team of talented players.

Nigeria beating Liberia by 2-0 is a very flattering scoreline. This performance is one of the worse in the last few years; nothing inspiring whatsoever. Super Eagles need an improvement to stand a chance in January’s AFCON.

Just watching European world Cup qualifier highlights and I see beautiful football from small teams..accurate passes, fluent transitions, wingers with great crosses and then clinical finishing..

Can't we see this with our super Eagles team? Every time we struggle to win games..
