Lai Mohammed Mum As Nigerians Rage, Demand Sack Over Lekki Tollgate Report

Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism, Alhaji Lai Mohammed was on Tuesday still mum as he faced the ire of Nigerians on social media following the release of the report of the Lagos State Judicial Panel of inquiry which confirmed the murder of innocent protesters by members of the Nigerian Army and Police at the Lekki Tollgate in October 2020.

Alhaji Mohammed as the spokesman of the Buhari-led administration denied the occurrence of the Lekki Tollgate massacre on the 20th of October, 2020. Referring to the incident as a phantom massacre on the first anniversary of the massacre few weeks ago.

Alhaji Mohammed who has been one of the main deniers of the incident also called it a massacre without blood and bodies. Referring to DJ Switch who live-streamed the unfortunate event on Instagram live as “one of the purveyors of fake news”.

Following the release of the report, multiple social media users reserved special comments for the Information Minister who has remained mum following the release of the report.

Even as he remained mum, reactions ranged from mockery of Alhaji Lai Mohammed over the Lekki Tollgate report to plain disdain and anger.
