People Saying I Was Arrested By EFCC Live On Fake News – Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation Minister and APC chieftain, Chief Femi Fani-Kayode has insisted he was never arrested by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission on Tuesday.

Fani-Kayode through his Twitter page said he was only invited by the EFCC for a friendly chat and was released on self-recognition after spending 6 hours, 30 minutes in the custody of the anti-graft agency.

Earlier reports made the rounds of FFk’s arrest by the EFCC for forgery and manipulation of documents, with some social media users reacting to the news by mocking the former APC critic.

But in a Tweet on Wednesday morning, Chief Fani-Kayode denied ever being arrested, claiming those who said he was arrested are living in fake news.

“I pity those that said I was arrested. They are filled with hate & live on fake news. Since when did an invitation & a friendly chat become an arrest? And even if I had been arrested, SO WHAT? I am not above the law & neither does joining APC give me immunity. My God is MIGHTY!”

Reacting to Fani-Kayode’s rebuttal, Nigerians questioned how he was granted bail on self-recognition if he wasn’t arrested, going on to blast the former Minister.

@Chinonu Since when did invitation and a friendly chat become bailable that you need to bail yourself based on self-recognition before you’re allowed to go HOME? You spent more than 6hours in a friendly discussion and invitation… Are you the incoming spokesperson for EFCC?

@Angela201045315 Oga! Please stop. You said you were granted Bail. Bail from what? Tell us!

@striipk Why do you feel the need to continue defending yourself effortlessly here if it doesn’t prick you, if there isn’t an atom of truth in it, why are you constantly talking to prove them wrong. Did they arrest you or not?

@NaijaBlackgod I wasn’t arrested. I was invited for a friendly chat. I was granted bail on personal recognition. 3 different statements from one person. Sir, you don’t really have to tweet anything in the first place.

@oodije Mighty God yet you lie at every opportunity you get. A friendly chat yet you were granted bail.

@OliverLeche I have no business with whatever you do. But you and your fellow politicians should note that being wicked, stealing and frustrating people whereas your children are enjoying life elsewhere is nothing but FOOLISHNESS You people don’t care what you should be remembered for.
