Bandits Kidnap Police Officer’s Wife On Christmas Night

At least six people, including a police officer’s wife were abducted, when bandits raided Wusasa community in Zaria Local Government Area of Kaduna State on Christmas night.

A source said that the bandits, who struck around 10:30 pm went from house to house without being challenged.

The source also said aside the policeman’s wife, his daughters as well as four others were kidnapped.

He said personnel of Kaduna State Vigilance Service (KadVS) later responded to a distress call put to them but the bandits were already on their way out with the victims.

“As they (KadVS) arrived and engaged the bandits in a gun duel, they (bandits) ran away with the victims, it was later realised that the victims were from three different houses in the Wusasa area,’’ he said.

ASP Mohammed Jalige, Police Public Relations Officer in Kaduna, could not be reached for reaction as he neither responded to calls nor replied messages.
