A 20-year-old boy, Moses Okon has been arrested by police operatives for the murder of his girlfriend, Jennifer Anthony for ritual purposes.

The corpse of Jennifer, who was a 300-level University of Jos student, was found in a hotel room, on New Years Day, with her eyes gouged out.

Parading the suspect on Wednesday, January 12, the State Commissioner of Police, CP Bartholomew Onyeka said the suspect fled after committing the crime, but was tracked down to his hideout in Benue.

“The Command in a bid to arrest the perpetrator launched an aggressive manhunt on the suspect and tactically trailed him to Benue State where he was arrested by hawked-eye police operatives of the Command.”

Following his arrest, social media users lamented the rise of ritual killings by young Nigerians in a bid to gain fast money.
