Delta APC Lashes Defectors, Making Noise With Omo-Agege’s Name

The Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has debunked what it Sunday described as the false defection narrative in circulation that supporters of Senator Ovie Omo-Agege defected to the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP as it described them as noise makers.

The APC described the narrative as flowing from the propaganda of confused political actors who are scared of the soaring popularity of the Deputy President of the Senate.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG had reported the defection of some hitherto key political associates of Omo-Agege including Cyril Ogodo, ersthwhile deputy chairman of the party and former APC spokesman in Delta State, Sylvester Omoninia. The two along others defected at a grand rally of the PDP in Asaba on Saturday.

Before the formal defection on Saturday, the party had hurriedly expelled them for alleged anti-party activities.

However, responding in a statement the APC described those that defected to the PDP as “a handful of former members who were expelled by their various wards for diverse anti-party activities and offences.”

In a statement signed by Pius Ituru of the Media and Publicity department, the Delta State APC described the defectors as noisy paperweight politicians and their actions as good riddance to bad rubbish.

The statement noted that “those being celebrated by the hate-filled and rudderless regime of Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and the PDP are expired former members of the APC who cannot win even any free and fair election conducted in their respective wards as they have long become burdensome political retirees and extortionists, not progressives fit for the APC.”

The APC further stated that the “defectors are noisemakers with virtually no dependable electoral value and who though have failed consistently to win elections in their units in successive elections, remain extremely greedy in demanding laughable rewards that even God Almighty won’t give.”

The party commended its loyal members urging them not to be bothered by the tricks of what it called “political liabilities and jobbers who nicknamed themselves supporters of the Deputy President of the Nigerian Senate, Senator Ovie Omo-Agege just to temporarily shore up their political value for immediate benefit,” by making noise with the DSP’s name.

The party wished the decampees well in their future political voyage of stomach infrastructure development.
