Femi cremated

Afrobeat maestro, Femi Anikulapo Kuti has said that he should be cremated upon his death saying that it is the most hygienic option to preserve the dead.

Femi Anikulapo Kuti, son of the deceased king of afrobeat, Fela revealed this on Sunday during a performance at the New Africa Shrine, Ikeja, Lagos.

Femi said he is shocked that the cemeteries in Lagos including the Ikoyi Cemetery continue to receive the dead despite not being expanded.

“When I die, please cremate me, burn my body. It is the most hygienic way. Have you all thought about Ikoyi cemetery, this Lagos has been in existence for let’s just say 60 years and people die, if they don’t die today, they will die tomorrow and that burial ground has never been full and if you check it, it is not like it’s 1 million acres since I was little when we used to bury people there,” the Afrobeat king, Femi Kuti said in revealing why he desires to be cremated after death.

Meanwhile, the first female winner of the Big Brother Naija, BBN  Mercy Eke who won Season 4 of the series has said that she would always be hated by some people no matter what she does.

She said this while responding to a fan, who tweeted, “Mercy Eke will never do enough in some people’s eyes no matter the good she does.”

Reacting to the tweet, the reality TV star wrote, “I’m not looking to be good in everyone’s eyes, my love. I’m a successful woman. So irrespective of how nice and goodhearted I am, I will always have people who will totally and absolutely hate me.”
