Shehu Sani, a former federal legislator, has called for the establishment of North West Security Network to combat terrorists who have now taken over the region.

Sani pointed out that the Zuma military Barracks in Suleja, Niger State, which was meant to provide security to the Abuja-Kaduna road users was attacked by bandits, leaving six soldiers dead.

The former lawmaker, who represented Kaduna central district in the 8th National Assembly, warned that the lives of the road users are on a scale of possibility if they were still within the villages of Rijana or Katari as they travel on the Abuja-Kaduna highway.

“If you are traveling to and from Kaduna by road or rail, until you pass the villages of Rijana or Katari, before you know that you have made your journey; anything short of that, your life is on a scale of probability.

“Zuma military Barracks in Suleja Niger State is supposed to provide security along Kaduna-Abuja road, it was attacked by bandits and six soldiers lost their lives. My condolences to the families of the fallen soldiers.

“We need our own North Western Security Network, NWSN, to tackle bandits,” he tweeted.

Following the bombing of the Abuja-Kaduna train where many passengers were killed by terrorists, road travel was at full swing on Wednesday at various motor parks in Kaduna State.

Train services were temporarily suspended on that route by the Nigerian Railway Corporation (NRC).
