ASP Dungus Abdulkarim, the Command’s Public Relations Officer disclosed this in a statement issued on Saturday in Damaturu.

The statement added that the arrest of the suspected kidnappers was in continuation of efforts by the command to ensure security and public safety through massive clamp down on hoodlums’ hideouts in Fika, Potiskum, Gujba and Gulani Local Government Areas of the State.

“This development came after the Police rescued one Idi Isa, aged 56 years of Karem Village in Fika LG who was kidnapped on the 31st of March, 2022.

“Consequently, on 17th April, 2022, at about 0600hrs, based on credible information, detectives from Fika Divisional Headquarters mobilized to a hideout of kidnappers at Nafada L.G.A., Gombe State where the suspects were trailed to an isolated house used in safe keeping kidnapped victims until ransom is paid.

“The suspects confessed to the crime in addition to other crimes committed”, the statement from the Yobe Police on the arrest of the kidnap suspects disclosed.

The Commissioner of Police, Yobe State Command, Haruna Garba, while reiterating the commitment of the Command to ensuring security and public safety, urged the people of the State to continue with their support and assist the police by providing timely and credible information in the fight against crime across the State.
