In Cat And Mouse Game, PDP, APC, Adjust Election Time Tables

The country’s two major political parties, the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the All Progressives Congress, APC in what some described as a game of cat and mouse on Wednesday adjusted their primary election time tables.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the two parties are adjusting their dates and to serve as baits in luring stakeholders from one another.

The adjustment of the primary election dates for the PDP was disclosed in a statement by its National Publicity Secretary, Debo Ologunagba, in Abuja on Wednesday.

According to Ologunagba, the Local Government Area (LGA) Congress to elect one National Delegate per LGA and one Person With Disability in the 774 Local Government Areas, holds on Tuesday, May 10.

He also said that the State House of Assembly (State Constituency Congress), according to the updated timetable, will hold on Wednesday, May 18, while House of Representatives Primaries will hold on Friday, May 20.

He added that the Senatorial District Primaries has also been fixed for Saturday, May 21, and the Governorship Primaries for Monday, May 23.

Ologunagba advised all aspirants to various positions, critical stakeholders, members of the party across the country as well as relevant agencies of government should please take note. (NAN)

In the game of cat and mouse with the PDP, the APC also extended its sale of expression of interest and nomination forms by four days.

The initial deadline for forms sale was Friday, but in a statement on Wednesday, the APC National Publicity Secretary, Barrister Felix Morka, said the exercise had been extended to Tuesday.

In a revised timetable issued by the APC National Organising Secretary, Sulaiman Muhammad Argungu, the last day for submission of completed forms and accompanying documents is now slated for May 11, 2022.

According to the statement, congresses to elect local government area (LGA), state and national delegates will now be held from Thursday, 12th May to Saturday, 14th May, 2022.
