A Federal High Court sitting in Abuja has restrained the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP and the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC from allowing anyone outside the 576 ad-hoc delegates elected at the party’s ward congresses on the 30th of April.

The congresses which were monitored by INEC according followed an application brought by five party chieftains on their behalf and the other 571 delegates is aimed at protecting their rights which according to reports were being threatened by moves by some to present some others as the genuinely elected ad-hoc delegates.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that the order by the ad-hoc delegates follows the supremacy battle between mainstream loyalists of the party loyal to the national vice chairman, South-South, Chief Dan Orbih and defectors from the All Progressives Congress, APC who are loyal to the governor.
