I Am Not Ashamed That I Can’t Give Birth – Actress Nse Ikpe-Etim

Popular Nollywood actress, Nse Ikpe-Etim, has said she wasn’t ashamed when she discovered she can’t bear children of her own for her husband as a woman.

The 47-year-old talented actress revealed this in a recent interview with media personality, Chude Jideonwo while also adding that she only felt inadequate after she made the discovery.

Recall that she had earlier disclosed she had to undergo a hysterectomy (removal of the uterus) to save her life after she was diagnosed with adenomyosis.

“Finding out I couldn’t have children didn’t make me feel ash@med. I felt inadequate. I felt inadequate as a woman but not ash@med, which was because of how I was brought up.

“Where I’m from we don’t tie sh@me to ourselves. Where I was brought up, we live through life fully,” she said.

When asked if she’s thinking of adopting a child, she said: “You never say never, but right now, my husband and I are just dog parents. People should be allowed to live, my husband and I are okay right now.”
