Popular Actress Annie Idibia has supported fellow actress Georgina Onuoha in defense of their colleague Genevieve Nnaji against malicious bloggers and critics following speculations of her mental breakdown.

Recall that in an Instagram post on Wednesday, May 10 Georgina said that spreading rumours and revealing the private information of Genevive was a criminal offence and the worst kind of defamation.

She pointed out that the health information of a patient is confidential and protected by the law and the bloggers who reported the actress’s alleged mental illness should be on notice.

Joining Georgina to defend Genevieve, Annie Idibia who had on several occasions tackled bloggers over reports on her marriage to singer 2face, thanked Georgina for making the post.

She wrote: “Thank You so much for this.”

In her statement, Georgina wrote in parts: “If you are a healthcare practitioner working in any hospital in America and you are leaking any patient’s health information to the public, you are committing a crime. Any healthcare worker spreading such lies has broken both state and federal laws in America. It is a HIPAA violation of patient’s privacy Art. It is punishable by fines, license revocation, and time in prison.

“It is sickening that our people are cold and cruel. As a healthcare worker, you took an oath “ to do no harm.” Whether this is true or not, I don’t know, and I am not interested. I know that whoever did this has committed a federal and state crime.”

Fans began expressing worry over Genevieve when she went completely silent on her 43rd birthday on May 3.

The actress did not post anything on social media to celebrate neither did she respond to goodwill messages by fans and colleagues.

A week after, exactly on May 10, the actress deleted all her Instagram photos and videos, months after she unfollowed everybody on the social media platform.

QED.NG reported that Genevieve caused a stir on March 12 when she labelled mental health a spiritual condition.

Speaking in a message posted on social media, the actress said, “Mental health is more spiritual than it is physical. Rededicate your life to the God that you serve. Get rebaptized.”
