Comedian Sabinus To Sue Over Copyright Breach In Gala, Peak Milk Adverts

Popular content creator, Chukwuemeka Emmanuel Ejekwu popularly known as Mr Funny or Oga Sabinus, is set to file lawsuits against manufacturers of Gala and Peak milk over their alleged violation of his copyright in the production of their adverts.

According to the agency representing Oga Sabinus the two companies utilized the skit maker’s intellectual property to produce commercial adverts for their products without prior permission to use such.

The comedian’s legal team disclosed that makers of Gala utilized Mr Funny’s animated picture to promote their products and Peak, used his trademark slogan “something hooge”, to make adverts to promote their products without contacting him or his agency

The legal team has demanded N1 billion for the violation by the producers of Peak Milk N100 million from the makers of Gala for the alleged violation of the right in its gala advert. 

Meanwhile besides the beef between Sabinus and makers of Gala and Peak Milk, GWGNG has reported that supporters of Labour Party presidential aspirant, Peter Obi have differed on the congratulatory message their man sent to Atiku Abubakar, following his emergence as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP in the 2023 election.

GWGNG reports that the former President, Atiku Abubakar was declared the winner and presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party after emerging the winner of the party’s presidential primary that was held at the MKO Abiola International Stadium, Abuja.

Reacting to Atiku’s victory, via a tweet on Sunday, Obi, who recently dumped PDP for Labour Party, described Atiku as his leader and elder brother.

He further prayed for God’s blessings on him while congratulating him for his victory.
