JUST IN: Peter Obi Emerges Presidential Candidate Of Labour Party

Former Anambra State Governor, Mr Peter Obi has just emerged as the presidential candidate of the Labour Party.

Me Peter Obi’s victory comes as two of Obi’s challengers, Professor Pat Utomi, and Joseph Faduri, stepped down for him at the party’s presidential primary on Monday.

Pat Utomi said he was stepping down to a younger aspirant Peter Obi with the capacity to effect the needed change in the Nigerian system.

He said the time of the liberation of Nigeria has began with the Labour Party primaries.

Another aspirant, 45-year old Joseph Faduri had earlier made his speech but mounted the podium again to also step down for the former governor of Anambra State, Mr. Peter Obi.

In light of the recent development, Peter Obi will be facing the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) presidential candidate, Atiku Abubakar, and whoever emerges the flagbearer of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) in the 2023 election.

Recall that the former governor had last week withdrawn from the PDP presidential primary to run for president on the Labour Party platform.

It was reported that Mr Peter Obi’s decision was as a result of a secret plot to disgrace him during PDP primaries.

On Saturday, May 28, Atiku Abubakar emerged as the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
