Owo Massacre: Funeral Mass Begins For Victims

Funeral mass for the victims of the terror attack by gunmen on worshippers at Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State has commenced.

The funeral mass is happening thirteen days after unknown gunmen opened fire at unsuspecting worshippers at Saint Francis Catholic Church, Owo, Ondo State.

No fewer than 40 persons were gruesomely murdered on June 5 when the gruesome act was committed. Other persons were left injured.

The senseless killing was condemned throughout the nation. Many wondered what the fate of Christians in the state and the country was if security could not be guaranteed in the church when they gathered to worship God.

The funeral mass for the deceased began at 10:00 am after the caskets bearing the bodies of the deceased were brought in.

The venue of the mass, Mydas Resort, Owo, was filled to capacity with Governor Oluwarotimi Akeredolu in attendance with other top personalities.

The mass took off following the procession into the hall by Catholic priests.
