Outrage Follows ISWAP’s Claim Of Responsibility For Kuje Jail Attack

Outrage has enveloped the social media space after the Islamic State in West Africa Province (ISWAP) publicly claimed responsibility for the bloody attack on the Kuje Medium Correctional Center on Tuesday, July 5, 2022.

Recall that terrorists attacked the center and freed inmates including 64 of their members held in the Correctional Centre. 

ISWAP cleared any doubts about its in the Kuje jail attack with the release of a video depicting the shocking event by the Islamic State’s A’maq Agency on Wednesday.

In the video the narration read in part “Fighters of Islamic State attacked Kuje prison in Abuja yesterday and succeeded in freeing dozens of prisoners.” The video also showed the terrorists shouting Allahu Akbar as the operation was ongoing.

According to reports, 879 inmates escaped, while 4 inmates and an officer of the National Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) lost their lives according to a statement by the Nigerian Correctional Service (NCoS).

Reacting to ISWAP’s claim of responsibility for the attack on Kuje prison, the social media space has been buzzing with numerous reactions as many Nigerians called out the present administration for failing Nigerians who trusted them with their votes.
