Lagos Sallah Flood: Igbokwe Under Fire For Abandoning Drainage Job

Published

on

Lagos All Progressives Congress, APC chieftain, Joe Igbokwe, who is also the Special Adviser for Drainage to the Lagos State Governor, has come under social media attack after flood took over over the streets of Lagos on account of what many referred to as the poor drainage system.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that Igbokwe, who has been actively involved in campaigning for the former Lagos state governor, Bola Tinubu to succeed president Buhari ahead of the 2023 general elections has been shadowed with many controversies.

He was recently disowned by Tinubu after he reported on social media that he, Tinubu met with Governor Nyesom Wike of Rivers State in France.

GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that a major flood outbreak in Lagos on Sunday wreaked havoc on residents of Orile-Agege, sweeping away moving vehicles with their occupants on Sallah Day. The occupants – three in each of the vehicles – were driving along Fatoki street, Agege, when the flood swept them into a drainage.

Two residents of Orile-Agege have also been declared missing, while four were rescued in the incident.

Reacting to the ugly incident Nigerians especially ‘Obidient’ supporters of Peter Obi took to their handles to call out Mr Igbokwe for abandoning his role in ensuring a safe drainage system in Lagos state.

According to them if Igbokwe had been diligent in his duties the flood that affected Lagos would have been averted.
