Motorist Crushes 2 LAWMA Sweepers To Death In Lagos

In a devastating incident in Gbagada, Lagos, two dedicated sweepers from the Lagos Waste Management Agency (LAWMA) lost their lives after being struck by a hit-and-run vehicle on Monday.

LAWMA promptly contacted security agencies to ensure the apprehension and prosecution of the driver responsible for this tragedy, identifying the vehicle as having registration number EPE 984 DV.

The statement from LAWMA expressed deep regret over the loss of these sanitation workers, emphasizing that they were fulfilling their lawful duties when the reckless driver fatally injured them. The agency is collaborating with law enforcement to bring the culprit to justice.

A plea was issued to motorists to exercise utmost caution on the roads, emphasizing the need to prevent such sorrowful incidents involving sanitation workers or anyone engaged in legitimate duties.
