Chaos As Tanker Falls At Ikorodu

The Lagos State Emergency Management Agency LASEMA on Friday said a heavy-duty truck was involved in a lone accident on the Ikorodu road in the state.

The Permanent Secretary, LASEMA, Dr Olufemi Oke-Osanyintolu, who confirmed the incident in a statement said the accident occurred on the inward section of the Palmgrove – Obanikoro end of the road.

The statement was titled, “Situation Report on the truck accident at inward Palmgrove – Obanikoro along Ikorodu Road”.

“Upon the arrival of the agency’s team at the incident scene, it was observed that a truck conveying two payloaders had a lone accident.

“Further information gathered at the incident scene revealed that the truck lost control and rammed into a culvert due to brake failure.

“No casualty was recorded. However, the affected truck totally blocked an entire lane – BRT inclusive.

“The quick intervention of the Agency’s heavy-duty equipment crane and super metro has been provided to recover the impediment off the busy road. Recovery operation is ongoing.”
