GreenWhiteGreen GWG reports that veteran journalist Sam Omatseye took to social media to cry out over alleged threats to his life by supporters of the Labour Party (LP)  presidential candidate, Peter Obi.

This came after Omatseye published an article in The Nation, titled ‘Obi-tuary’, where he fired numerous shots at the former Anambra State governor, many of which have been held as dubious.

The article stirred massive backlash from Nigerians especially Obidients.

In a tweet following the outpouring of disfavour against the article on Tuesday, the journalist cried out over what he claimed as numerous threats he claims to have received from the ‘Obedient’ Nigerians, urged Peter Obi to call his supporters to order.

According to the journalist, the presidential candidate will be held responsible if anything happened to him.

He tweeted, “Mr. Peter Obi, call your supporters to order. They are calling and issuing death threats. If anything happens to me, you will be held responsible!”

His post has generated massive reactions from social media users as many stated that he made the first threat by calling Peter Obi’s supporters ’Obi-teary’.

See reactions below:

@qconnect: You called Mr Peter Obi supporter Obituary, don’t you know the meaning of obituary? You issued the death threat first, you are not getting more of it, you started crying. We see your own death threats to Mr Obi supporters but we can’t find their own death threat to you.

@udocas2017: Mr.Peter Obi and his legal team suppose to take a legal suit against Sam Omatseye because  his recent article on him amounted to derogatory and image tarnishing.

@ayokvnle: There is nothing like ‘Peter Obi’s supporters’. You insulted millions of real young people, some of whom took it personal. Mr Peter Obi doesn’t control anyone so deal with the consequences of your action

@osanyemg: I will be very upset if Mr. Peter Obi gives out any “caution” to his supporters again. You are very very mad, Sam Omatseye. You are very mad and God will punish you and your forebears for tagging tired Nigerians desirous of better lives under a better government, as terrorists.
