A former senior staff of the National Veterinary Research Institute (NVRI), Vom, Plateau State, Muhammad Nasir Ambursa, has been ordered by a court to refund the 11 years salaries he received at the institution.

The order came after the Independent Corrupt Practices and Other Related Offenses Commission (ICPC) arraigned Ambursa following allegations of forgery and making false statements.

The agency in a statement released on Monday recounted how the suspect perpetrated the crime.

The prosecution counsel stressed that the convict had retired from the National Judicial Institute (NJI), Abuja, and then gained another employment as a contract staff at Kebbi State Judicial Service Commission.

However, “Ambursa in a false statement in his curriculum vitae “linked” his service at the NJI, Abuja and the Kebbi State Judicial Service Commission, he applied for and got another job at the NVRI, Vom.

This was done to enable him meet a requirement that stated that “a prospective employee must be willing to transfer his service” to NVRI to gain employment in the research institute.”
