Outrage As Obasanjo Denies Endorsing Tinubu

Critics of the All Progressives Congress, (APC) have taken to their social media handles to mock after President Olusegun Obasanjo berated Speaker Femi Gbajabiamila over his claim that the party’s presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu was endorsed at their meeting last week.

Recall that Speaker of the House of Representative, Femi Gbajabiamila on Thursday claimed that what transpired during the meeting between Obasanjo and Tinubu was a sign of victory for Tinubu in 2023.

However, the former president in a statement issued by his Special Assistant on Media, Kehinde Akinyemi, on Saturday, distanced himself from the reports.

While expressing his displeasure, Obasanjo described the statement credited to him as fake and noted that those behind the report were not helping the candidate.

In his words: “Those claiming to be insiders at the meeting issuing statement on the discussion and those crediting to me statement I had not made are enemies of the visitor and are not doing the visit any good.”

The recent development has generated numerous comments on social media as many Nigerians via their handles mocked the APC.
