Osodeke made this known during a virtual interview on Arise TV, while reacting to reports of some branches of the union shunning the strike and resuming academic activities.

GWG reports that some universities have decided to stop the prolonged strike and return back to school.

Recall that, the Ekiti State University (EKSU) chapter of the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) had announced the suspension of its industrial strike.

GWG understands that the decision to call off the strike was made after a stakeholders’ meeting in the University on Sunday, 21st August, where major issues about the prolonged strike were discussed.

According to the stakeholders, the strike is having a socio-economic effect on lecturers and all other stakeholders involved, (parents, children, alumni).

However, in a recent development, the National President of the union disowned schools that insist on resumption.

According to him, some of the schools are not recognized by the union.
