Ortom Insists He Is No Errand Boy To Wike, Damns Miyetti Allah

Benue State Governor, Samuel Ortom has fired back at the Miyetti Allah Kautal Hore group in response to the allegations levelled against him by the group that he neglected his responsibilities to his State and made himself an ‘Errand Boy’ to the Governor of Rivers State, Nyesom Wike.

The response came in the wake of the war of words between Ortom and members of the Miyetti Allah group.

The Fulani herders’ group had filed a suit against Ortom at the International Criminal Court (ICC), and accused the governor of seizing over 25,000 cows belonging to it’s members and detaining about 4,000 herders.

However, speaking during an interview with The International Centre For Investigative Reporting (ICIR), Ortom blasted the group stating that they were only angry because of his relationship with Wike. According to him, Wike is his friend, and they have both taken the lead in guiding people.

His words: “I am the governor of Benue State, and I am not lacking in any area of my responsibility. Despite all the challenges I have, we have been able to provide basic infrastructure. My relationship with Wike pains them. You know your true friend when you are in distress. They are annoyed because we have taken the lead in guiding people”
