Tinubu Denies Owning All Of Lagos (Video)

The All Progressives Congress (APC) presidential candidate, Bola Tinubu who has been decried by critics as the owner of Lagos has denied owning of some of the major assets in the state credited to him. He particularly declaimed ownership of Oriental Hotel.

The former Governor of Lagos State while speaking about his achievements as Governor of the state in a documentary distanced himself from some of the properties allegedly owned by him.

The presidential candidate in an excerpt of the documentary posted by the media aide to the Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, Jubril Gaw on his Twitter account said the entire Lekki environment was a refuse dump that took months to clear.

GWG reports that the Lagos Oriental Hotel has in the past been alleged to be owned by Tinubu and in 2020 during the ENDSARS protest, the hotel management had to put out a bold inscription that the hotel was not owned by Tinubu.

However, the media houses linked to Tinubu, including The Nation newspaper, Television Continental (TVC) and Max Radio were destroyed.

The executive director of Western Metal Product Company (WEMCO), Taiwo Ali, revealed that the company owns 99 per cent of the shares of the hotel.

Speaking in the documentary, Tinubu said he “brought private investors to Lagos State, and that the Civic Center and Oriental Hotel used to be refused dump. It took months and investments by the investors to transform the area.”

He further stated, “the majority of those assets they claim are mine are not mine.

“I created an economic and recovery path for Lagos. No state can brag of the exponential development that is going on in the Lekki Corridor,” Tinubu said in denying owning of all of Lagos as some of his critics had been quoted as saying.
