Sheyi Law to Tinubu

Popular comedian Seyi Law has fired back at critics who accused him of disloyalty to the Bola Tinubu administration after he spoke out against the government’s 0.5% cybersecurity levy on all bank transactions.

In his statement, Seyi Law addressed his critics saying that his support for Tinubu was not blind. “Why do some people think that because you support a person, you must therefore accept all their policies?” He emphasized that while he supports President Tinubu, he doesn’t blindly agree with every policy, especially when it affects the welfare of citizens.

Seyi Law clarified that his concern about the minimum wage is not about him but about the parents of his critics who are affected by it. He praised supporters of President Tinubu as “better Nigerians” because they criticize when necessary.

He further stated, “The cybersecurity levy may be from an amended act, but I don’t think this is the time for implementation. If there’s anything that should be paramount to the government, it’s the new minimum wage.”
