TVC’s Your View Female Presenters Fear Over Nudes With Controversial Doctor

The female presenters of one of Nigeria’s most popular television morning shows, Your View on TVC, alongside highly placed Nigerian women blushed on Thursday morning as they heard that their nudes may be in the custody of a controversial gynecologist under police investigation for child rape.

Dr Femi Olaloye one of Nigeria’s leading gynecologists who is in the frontline in the fight against breast cancer and cervical cancer has been in the spotlight after he was called out by leading Nollywood actress, Kate Henshaw for child rape.

He is alleged to have serially abused his wife’s niece for more than one year. Ms Henshaw who was until recently a friend of the doctor and his wife, however, called him out in an Instagram video. The doctor according to her confessed that he has a weakness for young girls.

His wife has reported him to the police but the investigation has dragged on for more than six months.

GWG reports that Ms Henshaw has been joined in the advocacy for the prosecution of Dr Olaleye by another popular Nollywood actress, Damilola Adekoya, popularly known by her stage name, Princess.

On Thursday the ladies of the popular TVC programme, Your View made the issue a topic of discussion and interviewed the Lagos State police spokesman, Benjamin Hundeyin.

The normally articulate police spokesman was, however, reticent even as he admitted that the case was still under investigation, having been reported at the end of last year. However, pressures from the Ladies of Your View on how long it would take for the investigation of the alleged rape would take were rebuffed by the police spokesman.

Princess who joined the show remotely accused the police of trying to kill the issue largely on account of the alleged influence of the doctor who is said to be highly connected.

However, a new dimension to the development came when Morayo Afolabi-Brown, the Your View anchor who acknowledged being treated by the doctor in the past was told by Princess that the doctor has hidden video cameras in his examination room, a suggestion that threw Ms Afolabi Brown and her co-hosts off balance as to the prospects of their nudes being in the hands of the doctor.

That suggestion of their nudes being in the hands of the popular doctor was, however, one that the TVC’s Your View presenters were unable to confirm.

As she drew the programme to an end on Thursday morning, Ms Afolabi-Brown while calling on the police to conclude their investigation affirmed that the good work of the doctor will not be swept away. She recalled his frontline role in the fight against breast cancer and cervical cancer, causes that incidentally brought him close to Kate Henshaw who incidentally has now brought him to ignominy.

The other anchors with Afolabi-Brown on the show on Thursday morning were Yeni Kuti, Nyma Akashat Zibiri and Mariam Longe.

Afolabi-Brown said that the good works of the doctor in the campaign against cervical and breast cancer was not something that they would overlook but she like the other Your View presenters could not comprehend the idea of Dr Olaleye being in custody of their nudes.

Dr Olaleye fended off moves by the programme organisers to have him on air saying that he would want the investigation to run its course.
