Umahi Gets CON Award From Buhari For Unequalled Performance
President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the conferment of National Honours Award of Commander of the order of the Niger, CON on Governor David Nweze Umahi it emerged on Monday.
The approval was contained in a letter forwarded to the Governor by the Minister of Special Duties and Intergovernmental Affairs, Senator George Akume on Monday, the governor’s Special Assistant on Media and strategy, Chooks Oko said in a statement.
The Minister in the letter emphasized that the choice of Engineer Umahi for this prestigious National Honours Award was sequel to the Governor’s unequalled track record of performance within seven years in office as Governor.
The investiture of the Governor and other deserving Nigerians is slated to hold in Abuja on Tuesday October 11, 2022.
Ahead of the award of the CON on Governor Umahi, Mr Uchenna Orji, Ebonyi Commissioner for Information and State Orientation had applauded the achievements of the state government in infrastructural development.
Orji stated this in an interview with the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) saying that Gov. Dave Umahi’s achievements in roads infrastructure, human capital development, accountability and transparency in governance remained unequalled.
He said that Umahi’s prudence in fiscal management, coupled with his commitment to the human and infrastructural development of the state had led to the massive transformation of the social and economic lives of people of the state.
