Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s presidential candidate, has admitted that there were some “erroneous entries” on his presidential campaign council list.

This comes as the former governor of Anambra State promised to review and update the list.

On Friday, the presidential candidate reiterated his commitment to transparency and accountability in a series of tweets on his Twitter handle.

“I’ve received several calls of concern since the release of the Labour Party’s Presidential Campaign Council list,” he wrote. There were some omissions and erroneous entries in the list, which is why some people were concerned.

“In response, the Labour Party Chairman in the presence of members of the NWC addressed the issues during a press conference. In keeping with our commitment to accountability, responsiveness and transparency, an updated list will be issued in due course. I plead for patience. -PO”

The PUNCH had earlier reported that the LP leadership on Thursday held an emergency meeting to address the backlash that trailed the inclusion of some names as well as the exclusion of certain candidates nominated by members of its National Working Committee in its Presidential Campaign Council.

The PUNCH had reported on Tuesday that there was division in the party over Wednesday’s unveiling of the council.

Barely 24 hours after the PCC inauguration, there were criticisms over some of those who made the list.

One of such inclusion was a former Director of Information at Nigerian Defence headquarters, Major General John Enenche.
