Final Year Nigerian Student Jilted By Girlfriend Commits Suicide

A final-year student of Federal Polytechnic, Oko, Anambra State has reportedly committed suicide after he was jilted by his girlfriend.

According to Daily Trust, the deceased allegedly took his life on Friday, November 18, after the girlfriend jilted him. A source privy to the development disclosed that the student whose identity is yet to be revealed,  took sniper after his girlfriend told him that she was ending the relationship and that he should look  for another girl.

It was gathered that the disheartened man was doing his Industrial Attachment (IT), when he was jilted by his lover.

A student of the institution, Iyke Orji, described the deceased as someone who was “full of energy and life”.

“He was in his IT days, a student of Public Administration. He decided to stay in Oko for his one year industrial training, (but) instead of focusing on his training, he decided to search for true love,” Orji said.

The school authorities are yet to respond to the development.

The Anambra State Police Command is also yet to commend on the reported suicide of the final year student who was jilted by his girlfriend.

Meanwhile the identity of the female girlfriend who broke off the relationship is also yet to be made known.
