Rivers Politics: Questions Arise Over Chidi Llyod’s Crying Video
Questions are being asked after the video of Chidi Llyod, a former henchman of Rotimi Amaechi’s turned supporter of Nyesom Wike, crying and apologising over past plots against the incumbent appeared on national television and social media.
GWG.NG reports that Chidi Llyod would be remembered for the 2013 fracas in the House of Assembly that led to the hospitalization of at least one member that was hit with the mace.
Chidi Llyod defected to the PDP in 2020 and was recently appointed Chairman of Emohua Local Government Area, Rivers State.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Akpabu-Omudioga-Egbeda road project executed by the Wike administration, Chidi Llyod said his community did not deserve the project on account of what he did to Wike even as he turned to crying in between the speech.
“I want to make a public confession today that after you had roundly defeated us in 2015, I became the Paul of Tarsus, I was persecuting you. I moved from Federal High Court to Federal High Court shopping for order to stop your swearing in as governor of Rivers State.
“Your excellency, (starts sobbing)your excellency, I do not deserve you, I do not deserve you. Ordinarily, this community does not deserve this road because of me and all the things I did to you, but today…
“Your Excellency, I do not deserve you. This community does not deserve this road because of me and the deeds I have done. And today, where are here to commission this road. I want to thank you on behalf of my community, my wife and children, your excellency, I was still in the University of Dundee as a student when you called me at the heat of the pandemic and I begged you for one thing, I said your excellency, just help, whatever it is I have done, forgive and forget.
