Burna Boy Replies With Curses To Talk Of Mother Being A Fela Girl
By Onyinyechukwu Chima
Record selling singer, Burna Boy, has formally but incredulously addressed rumours about his mother being one of the dancers in the band of the late music legend, Fela by laying a curse on those he labelled as haters.
The musician replied to the rumours by laying a curse as his New Year message to his adversaries.
Speaking candidly during a New Year jig in Lagos, the singer frontally addressed rumors that his mother had performed for the late Afrobeat musician Fela Anikulapo-Kuti. According to him, he continues to perform in the nation despite the numerous accusations leveled against him.
In a social media video that went viral, the musician, who appeared saddened by the rumors, cursed his detractors, warning them that God would punish them for their unloving behavior.
Burna Boy stated that “I am here after you all said that I killed someone in Cubana and after saying my mother used to dance for Fela. No wahala. I am still here because I still adore you. God will punish you if you do not love me.
“National TV talks like f*ck. You all are still laughing while not understanding what is seriously happening. They can take my life away for being full of crap.”
GWG.ng reports that Burna Boy had been caught up with controversy over the role of his entourage in the shooting that characterized his presence at the Cubana Nite Club some time ago and the insinuations of his mother having been a Fela girl may have further provoked the music star.
Meanwhile, an activist, Mr Vincent Ezekwueme, has urged Nigerians to embrace the New Year with love, peace, forgiveness and show of empathy to the poor and less privileged.
Ezekwueme, who is the Chairman of Civil Liberties Organisation (CLO), Anambra, made the plea while speaking to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Sunday in Enugu.
He spoke on the essential attitude needed for the New Nigeria most Nigerians yearn for this 2023.
