Buhari Katsina setback

Days after the political setback when he was booed during a visit to his home state, Katsina, the Muhammadu Buhari mystique was at the weekend being further demystified with reports that an incumbent member of the House of Representatives from his state, Hon. Hamza Dalhat, has dumped the All Progressives Congress, APC.

President Buhari is the national leader of the party which won all National and State assembly seats in Katsina in 2019.

Dalhat who represents the Batagarawa/Rimi/Charanchi Federal Constituency gave notice of his exit from the APC in a letter to the chairman of his ward, ‘A’ Batagarawa on Friday according to one news source.

He said that he was resigning from the party with immediate effect.

Though he did not give a reason for his decision and the party to which he was defecting to, it was, however, being traced to his failure to get a re-election ticket.

He nevertheless thanked the party for giving him the opportunity to represent it in the National Assembly and for the comfort they gave to him.

He also thanked his constituents in Batagarawa/Rimi/Charanchi Federal Constituency for the opportunity they gave him to contribute his quota to the development of the country.

GWG.ng reports that the political setback for the APC in Katsina State follows reports that Buhari was booed during his visit to his home state where he had until now been idolized.
