Man Allegedly Kills Wife, Disposes Body In Pit Latrine

The dead body of Lindelani Nengovhela, a South African house wife has been discovered in a pit latrine in their yard in Mangodi Ha Sundou, Limpopo. The discovery was made a day after she withdrew a complaint against her husband for domestic abuse.

According to reports, the couple had a contentious relationship and the wife had filed a domestic abuse complaint against her husband, and he was jailed.

She attended to court on Friday, January 27, and withdrew the charge. Her husband, Livhuwani Madadzhe—comedian SABC Livhu—was out on bail and was scheduled to appear in Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court again the following week.

According to a representative for the Limpopo police, the 38-year-old husband called the police on Saturday morning to report that he was unable to find his wife but was shocked to discover her dead in the pit latrine in their yard.

The suspect was taken into custody on a charge of murder after a preliminary investigation by the police at the scene, according to Brigadier Motlafela Mojapelo. On Monday, January 30, he was scheduled to appear in Thohoyandou Magistrate’s Court.

Lieutenant General Thembi Hadebe, the provincial commissioner for Limpopo, pleaded with those in difficult relationships to abstain from using domestic violence.

“This is simply another instance of femicide and gender-based violence against a helpless member of society. Despite the fact that she is no longer alive, the woman apparently believed her husband would stop physically abusing her. We implores members of the community experiencing domestic difficulties to seek assistance and refrain from using violence “She spoke.
